PugMug Partners with DARE to Help Rescue Dachshunds Find Forever Homes

Here at PugMug, we're excited to announce our new partnership with DARE (Dachshund Adoption Rescue and Education, Inc.), a rescue non-profit that helps find homes for dachshunds!

First, a fun dachshund fact: Did you know that hot dogs were originally called hot dachshunds, because of their length? When some people had trouble spelling dachshund (which means badger dog in German!), the name was shortened to hot dog! 

Dachshunds have to be some of the cutest dogs around. There’s something about the way they wag their tails when they sprint towards you that just melts our hearts every time. They really are very excitable! 

Speaking of exciting things, here at PugMug, we’re really excited to announce our new partnership with DARE, a rescue non-profit that helps find homes for dachshunds! 

At PugMug, we strongly believe that all pets from all walks of life deserve a loving home. By combining PugMug's custom pet art with DARE's sponsorship and fundraising efforts, we hope to create a brighter future for dachshunds in need.

DARE (Dachshund Adoption Rescue and Education, Inc.) logo

DARE (Dachshund Adoption Rescue and Education, Inc.) is a 501c3 non-profit that rescues abandoned, neglected, abused, orphaned, and/or surrendered dachshund and dachshund mixes in Florida and provides them with temporary foster homes and socialization until they can find forever homes.

Spotlight Pet: Meet Rex

Meet Rex, a.k.a. Rex The Wonderdog!  Despite facing some challenges, Rex's spirit is unbreakable and his zest for life is truly inspiring.

This delightful dachshund may have limited use of his back legs, but he doesn't let that slow him down. With his trusty wheelchair, Rex navigates the outdoors with ease, and indoors, he scoots around like a pro, especially on smooth surfaces.

Rex is the ultimate cuddlebug, always ready to snuggle up in blankets with his human companions. He loves the outdoors and playing with his toys. Treat time is a highlight for Rex, and turkey slices are his absolute favorite. His affectionate nature shines through as he loves being close to his family, offering smiles and gentle kisses in exchange for pets and attention.

Rex is looking for a home where he can be the star of the show and the only fur kid. His cheerful disposition and loving heart are sure to bring endless smiles and joy to his new family, and he’s great with children.
